Celebrating National Bring Your Bible to School Day
SBS

On Thursday, October 2, 2025, the St. Bernadette School community came together to honor National Bring Your Bible to School Day—a special time to celebrate the Word of God and reflect on its importance in our daily lives.

Throughout the day, each class paused for lessons centered on Scripture. Teachers led meaningful discussions and activities that reminded students how the Bible is not only a foundation of our faith, but also a guide for living with kindness, wisdom, and strength. These moments provided students with opportunities to share their own reflections, deepen their understanding, and see how God’s Word connects to their everyday experiences.

A highlight of the celebration was the presentation of new Bibles to our 6th grade and new 7th grade students. This tradition at St. Bernadette is a powerful reminder of how we grow in our faith as we move forward in our educational journey. To mark this milestone, the students gathered together for a Bible Blessing led by Father Ron Falco. With reverence and joy, Father Falco prayed over the Bibles and the young people receiving them, asking God’s blessing upon their study of Scripture and their continued spiritual growth.

This annual event is a cherished tradition at our school, reminding us that the Bible is not just a book we carry, but a living Word that shapes our hearts and guides our lives. Watching students embrace their faith and participate so wholeheartedly was an inspiring moment for teachers, parents, and classmates alike.

At St. Bernadette School, we are grateful to nurture a community where God’s Word is celebrated, honored, and lived out. May these new Bibles serve as a source of light and encouragement for our students in the years ahead.

Ms. Jezierski Appointed to National Discovery Education Advisory Council
SBS

We are thrilled to announce that St. Bernadette School’s Principal, Ms. Mary Anne Jezierski, has been selected to serve on the National Discovery Education Advisory Council (DEAC) for the 2025–2026 school year! This is an extraordinary honor not only for Ms. Jezierski, but also for our entire school community.

The DEAC is a distinguished group of education leaders from across the country who advise Discovery Education, a global leader in digital curriculum and professional learning. Members of the Council provide valuable insight on how technology can be used to inspire student curiosity, support teachers, and strengthen learning communities. Being chosen for this role places Ms. Jezierski among the nation’s most forward-thinking school leaders.

For St. Bernadette School, Ms. Jezierski’s appointment means that our voice will be represented at the national level in conversations about the future of education. She will have the opportunity to share our successes, contribute ideas about effective instructional practices, and learn from other top educators. Most importantly, her involvement ensures that our students benefit from the very latest innovations in digital learning and teaching strategies.

This recognition reflects the dedication Ms. Jezierski has consistently shown in fostering a vibrant, faith-filled, and academically rigorous environment here at St. Bernadette. Her leadership has helped guide our community in embracing new technologies while keeping our Catholic values at the center of education.

We are so proud of Principal Jezierski and grateful for her commitment to our students, faculty, and families. Please join us in congratulating her on this outstanding achievement! Together, we celebrate this milestone and look forward to the new opportunities it will bring for our school.

Back to School with Smiles All Around!
SBS

The first day of school at St. Bernadette was filled with energy, excitement, and the unmistakable buzz of a new year beginning.

From our youngest learners in the Early Childhood Center to our Elementary and Middle School students, the hallways were alive with laughter, freshly polished shoes, and the smell of sharpened pencils and fresh paint.

Teachers welcomed their students into gleaming classrooms, ready to kick off another year of growth and discovery. Parents lingered a little longer than usual at drop-off, snapping photos and soaking in the moment, while students eagerly reunited with friends and teachers. The entire building seemed to hum with possibility and joy.

But the highlight of the day? That might just be the smile on Coach Mike St. John’s face. If there was ever any doubt about the excitement of the first day, one look at his grin says it all. “I’ve never been more excited for a school year,” Coach Mike said (with a smile so wide it nearly stretched across the gym). “The energy in this building is contagious—our students are ready, our teachers are ready, and I might even be ready to run a few extra laps myself.”

His enthusiasm matched the mood throughout campus. Students arrived with backpacks filled to the brim, some carrying brand-new supplies, others proudly showing off summer reading certificates, and everyone buzzing about what lies ahead. The freshly painted walls and polished hallways seemed to shine even brighter with all the joy they carried.

The first day is always a reminder of what makes St. Bernadette special: a strong sense of community, a deep foundation of faith, and a shared excitement for the learning journey ahead. With smiling faces at every turn—and Coach Mike leading the charge—it’s clear this year is off to an unforgettable start.

Here’s to another wonderful year at St. Bernadette School, filled with laughter, learning, and just maybe a few more big smiles from Coach Mike.

Blessings Abound: A Joyful Night at St. Bernadette School
SBS

What a wonderful evening we shared together at St. Bernadette School as we gathered to bless and celebrate our brand-new playground! It was a night filled with joy, gratitude, and plenty of laughter as our students, families, staff, and alumni came together to mark this special occasion.

Father Ron Falco, our Pastor and Headmaster, led us in a heartfelt blessing of the new playground, reminding us that this space is more than swings and slides. It’s a place where children will play, grow, and form the friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. Standing beside him was Principal Mary Anne Jezierski, joined by faculty and staff who were proud to witness this moment for our school community.

As soon as the blessing was complete, the fun truly began! Students ran, climbed, and laughed as they tried out the new equipment for the first time. Families gathered nearby, enjoying popsicles and crafts, while parents and alumni caught up with one another. The energy of the evening was contagious—it felt like a true celebration of everything that makes our school such a special place.

What makes this playground extra meaningful is the love and dedication behind it. The project was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of our parents, who gave their time, talent, and hard work throughout the summer to bring it all to life. Their efforts have created not just a playground, but a lasting gift for every child at St. Bernadette School.

We are deeply thankful to everyone who played a role in making this dream a reality. The joy on our students’ faces as they discovered their new playground said it all—this is a space that will be cherished for years to come.

At St. Bernadette School, blessings truly abound. Our new playground is a shining reminder of the strength of our community, the power of faith, and the joy of coming together.

5B Engineers Sphero Success in the Long Jump Challenge!
SBS

This week, Class 5B turned the classroom into an exciting robotics arena during their Sphero Long Jump Challenge!

As part of their ongoing STEM exploration, students were tasked with coding their Sphero robots to zoom up a ramp and leap over strategically placed obstacles. The goal? To see which group could achieve the longest and most accurate jump through smart coding and creative problem-solving.

Students experimented with speed, trajectory, and angle adjustments in their code—learning how even the smallest tweaks could affect their robot's performance. The challenge encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience as teams worked through trial and error to perfect their jumps.

The classroom buzzed with excitement as each team cheered for their Sphero, celebrated victories, and analyzed what could be improved for the next attempt. Beyond the fun, students gained a deeper understanding of force, motion, and the real-world applications of programming.

We’re so proud of 5B for their innovation, teamwork, and perseverance. It’s clear that with challenges like these, our future engineers and coders are off to a great start—one jump at a time!
