Extended Day 

The St. Bernadette Extended Day Program provides after school care from 3:00 to 6:00 PM for Kindergarten through 8th grade. This program is separate from the Preschool Day Care Program. It serves working families of regularly enrolled St. Bernadette School students. The program provides individual attention with snack time, recreation, quiet time and time for homework completion.

 Fees are the sole support of the St. Bernadette Extended Day Program. It is not subsidized by the school or the parish. Parents are required to complete the Extended Day Registration Form at the beginning of each school year, stating the specific days of the week that the child will attend.

• Students must be registered on an annual basis.
• Extended Day will be billed in 10 equal installments.  Each payment is due on the first of the month.  Kindergarten and 8th grade will be billed in 9 equal installments with an additional half month payment due on June 1st.  
• One Extended Day Program registration form and $50 fee may be used per family.
• The $50 registration fee will be assessed to students who "drop in " more than six times during the academic year.

ECC Students:

1. 2. 3. Our afternoon consists of both structured and unstructured activities. These include playgroundtime, free play, crafts, and at times, movies, music and movement activities.

Please be sure to send in a separate snack and drink, or a refillable water bottle, for Extended Day. Please pack a spoon or fork, if needed. It is helpful if the snack bag is labeled with “E” to separate it from the morning snack. We ask that students do not have any peanut/tree nut snacks,as we do have allergy aware classrooms.

Dismissal will take place from either the ECC building or the ECC playground, no later than6:00pm. Children will be walked out to the foyer by a staff member.

Grade 1-4 Extended Day Students:

Grade 1-4 Extended Day students will meet in the Charbonneau Center at dismissal before moving to classrooms.

Please provide an afternoon snack/drink for your child; we ask that it be nut/ peanut butter free because we have several children with allergies.

Pick-up for the Extended Day program is at the glass doors outside the Charbonneau Center.

Parents should ring the bell located next to the door and a teacher will open the door for you.

Grade 5-8 Extended Day Students:

Grade 5-8 Extended Day students will go directly to a designated middle school classroom. The pick-up for the Grade 5-8 Extended Day program will also be at the glass door outside the Charbonneau Center. Parents should ring the bell located next to the door and a teacher will open

the door for you.

If there are any changes as to who will be picking up your child, please notify your child’s teacher or call

the school at 508-393-5630. Only those authorized on the student registration paperwork will be allowed

to pick up, without exception. All those picking up should be expected to show their license, if asked by a

staff member.

The Extended Day program follows all school rules regarding student behavior. Students are expected to

respect and follow teacher and staff direction. Parents will be alerted to any situations that may arise

during the afternoon, and may be contacted by the Extended Day Director, as needed.
