Admissions
For PK3 admissions, students must be 3 years old by August 31 of the year entering school. PK4 students must be 4 years old by August 31. Both PK3 and PK4 students must be toilet-trained and out of diapers/pull-ups in order to be accepted.
Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 31.
Priority is given to current school families. Admission to all grades is based on available space, a review by the principal of previous academic records, and screening results. St. Bernadette School admits qualified students regardless of race, color, religion and/or national/ethic origin.
Extended Day Program
The Extended Day Program is an adjunct program sponsored by St. Bernadette School, but managed separately. The hours are from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday on all days that school is in session. Activities include a variety of enrichment programs and for older students, supervised homework time.
In addition, there is an optional day-care program available for pre-schoolers.
Curriculum
Religion, Language Arts, Science, Math, Social Studies, Music, Art, Physical Education, Library and Computer Science.
Bus Service
St. Bernadette School is serviced by school buses operated by the Town of Northboro.
Extra Curricular Activities
Student Council, Boys' and Girls' Basketball, Cross Country, Softball, Yearbook, Newsletter, Chess Club, Math Olympiad, Mosaic Club, Oratory, Knitting, Scrapbooking, Book Club, Altar Servers, and Field Trips.
School Schedule
The School Day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Parents are provided with a monthly calendar that identifies vacation and early dismissal days.
Special Programs / Annual Events
Pastoral Counseling, Veterans Day Program, Christmas Show, Catholic Schools Week Celebrations, Pot Luck Supper, Declamation Contest, Spring Concert, Field Day, and Science Fair.
Testing
Annual Diocesan Testing in Grades 2 through 8, and the Assessment of Catholic Religious Education (ACRE) for Grades 5 and 8
