Mrs. Deborah O'NeilPrincipal Mrs. O’Neil earned an undergraduate degree in History and Secondary Education from the College of Our Lady of the Elms. While raising her children and teaching at St. Margaret School in Lowell she completed a Masters Degree in Educational Administration at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Mrs. O’Neil was previously the Principal of St. Peter School, Cambridge, MA from 1992 until June 2005. During her years as an administrator, Mrs. O’Neil has served in a variety of roles in local, regional and national associations. She was a Director and Co-President of the Archdiocesan Elementary School Principals Association as well as a mentor principal to aspiring administrators in the Archdiocese of Boston. Mrs. O’Neil was a member of the Commission on Independent Schools with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) for six years. She has also served as Visiting Committee Chairperson for several school accreditation visits, including one international committee in Torino, Italy. Mrs. O’Neil was Chairperson of the Hospitality Committee for the National Catholic Educational Association’s (NCEA) annual convention held in Boston. She was also one of 250 educators nationwide invited to the NCEA’s Centennial Symposium on Catholic Education in Washington DC in 2004. She has also presented workshops at both the NCEA and the New England Association of Catholic Development Officers (NEACDO).

Mrs. Julianne MorinAssistant Principal Mrs. Morin was born and brought up in Australia. She attended the National Art School and Alexander Mackie College in Sydney and upon graduation met and married an American. They decided to live in the United States and soon after her arrival here, she attended Assumption College where she received a graduate degree in teaching and went on to do further graduate studies at several other colleges. She began teaching in the Worcester Public schools Art Department and in the Gifted and Talented Program (P.E.A.K.) where she taught Arts and Humanities courses at places like the Higgins Armory Museum and The Worcester Center for Crafts. At about this time she was a co-founder of a co-operative art gallery, called the Grove Street Gallery that provided exhibit space for many artists, both local and national. Mrs. Morin also had a studio at the gallery and exhibited her own work at many galleries in this area and other parts of the Northeast. Mrs. Morin joined her husband in Morin Communications Inc., a multi-media training company that specialized in video production and computer based training for large corporations. Later, she returned to teaching at the Seven Hills Charter School where she was a founding faculty member. There, she taught Art and Social Studies, was 504 Co-coordinator, a certified trainer and an Administrator. After eight years at the school, she was very happy to find a home with the St. Bernadette School family as Assistant Principal, a position she enjoys immensely.

Mrs. Janice VarneyOffice of Student Accounts Mrs. Varney worked for a Catholic hospital conducted by the Daughters of Charity as a Patient Service Representative and later as the secretary to the Director of Development. She later obtained a position as secretary to the Astrophysics Branch of the Space Science Division at NASA Ames Research Center, where she supported 50 infra-red astronomers. After holding this position for 7 years, she relocated to Boulder, Colorado and worked as the secretary to the High Altitude Observatory, a group of solar astronomers at NCAR. When she relocated to Massachusetts, she joined St. Bernadette School in XXX in the Office of Student Accounts.

Mrs. Annamarie O'DonnellAdministration Assistant, Office Manager Mrs. O’Donnell has worked for St. Bernadette since 2001 when she started as a part time teacher in the Preschool Extended Day program. In 2004 she transitioned to the Kindergarten aide position for Mrs. Dalbec and Mrs. Jordan. She currently is the office manager in the school's main office. Prior to coming to St. Bernadette’s Mrs. O’Donnell worked for Millipore Corporation in Sales and Training. She has a B.A. in Chemistry from Regis College. Annamarie O’Donnell also holds an OCCS certification for Toddler/ Preschool Ages.

Mrs. Cathy LambertReceptionist Mrs. Lambert is a registered nurse and graduated from the Nightingale School of Nursing at St. Thomas Hospital in London. She has been a member of the St. Bernadette School community since 2001. She was President of the Parent Guild from 2007-2009 and worked in the Fundit office from 2009-2011. She began working as a receptionist in 2010. Mrs. Lucia SearsReceptionist Mrs. Sears has a B.S.B.A .in marketing from Northeastern University. She went on to work for International Data Corporation (IDC) as a research analyst/consultant for several years. Mrs. Sears has been a member of the Saint Bernadette School community since 1998. She began substituting at Saint Bernadette School in the front office in 2008, and working permanently in 2010.

Mrs. Bernadette AubeDirector of Admissions Mrs. Aube has a BS and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Western New England College. She worked as an Edison Engineer at General Electric for 3 years. From General Electric she moved to a small computer company in Waltham, MA where she worked as a Computer Design Engineer as well as a Product Manager for 15 years.

Mrs. Melissa KaneDirector of Advancement and Alumni Relations Mrs. Kane has been a professional fundraiser and non-profit manager for over 16 years. She served as Director of Development and Deputy Director at DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park for 12 years. Most recently she served in a similar role as Director of Institutional Advancement at Worcester Historical Museum. She is on the Board of the Association of Catholic Admissions and Advancement Professionals and completed the National Advancement Summer Institute for Catholic Schools in 2010. She received her BA in History from Providence College and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies from Tufts University. |
Mrs. Gail Clapp, RN, BSN, CSNSchool Nurse Mrs. Clapp is a Certified School Nurse who graduated from RI College and received her PA certification from Kutztown University. She previously worked in the Bethlehem, PA Area School District for 17 years before moving back to Massachusetts.

Mrs. Robyn Sharp, RN BSNSchool Nurse Robyn Sharp RN BSN, graduated from Somerville Hospital School of Nursing and received a BSN from Anna Maria College. She worked for seventeen years as a Community Health Nurse. Most recently she was a per diem nurse for the Mendon-Upton School District. |
Ms. Lori HowardDirector of Extended Day Program PreK3-8 and Summer Recreational Program Director Ms. Howard has been at St. Bernadette School since October 2004. She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, and an Associates Degree in Business Administration. She is certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office for Child Care Services and has been affiliated with the National Association of Young Children (NEAYC). She is also certified by the American Management Association (AMA).

Mrs. Karen EpsteinPreschool / PreK4 Teacher Mrs. Epstein graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with a degree in occupational therapy and is working on completing her Bachelor's Degree in Education at Worcester State University. She is licensed as a Lead Preschool Teacher by the MA Department of Early Education and Care. She previously held a position as a Kindergarten instructional assistant in the Worcester Public Schools and worked to help develop and adapt the curriculum to serve an extremely diverse population. |
Mrs. Tracy LeBlancPreschool / PreK4 Teacher Mrs. Leblanc started at St. Bernadette School in 2004 in the Extended Day Program. In 2005, she became a member of the Parish through the RCIA program. Since 2006, she has worked in different capacities in both the Preschool and Kindergarten program as well as in Extended Day and the Summer Program. She is currently teaching in PreK 4. She has an Early Childhood certificate from Quinsigamond Community College.

Mrs. Mary WeaverTransitional Class Teacher Mrs. Weaver graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a B.A. in Sociology. She is Preschool Lead Teacher certified from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office for Children and also has her Full Catechist Certification from the Office of Religious Education from the Diocese of Worcester. She has taught four-year-old preschoolers at St. Bernadette School since it opened in 1996 and has been a parishioner at St. Bernadette Church for over thirty years.

Mrs. Deborah BurkeTransitional Class Teacher Mrs. Burke earned her Associate of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts. While her children were growing up she ran her own family daycare for several years. She began working at St. Bernadette School in 1996, the year it opened as a small preschool and daycare center. She took classes at Quinsigmond Community College and Worcester State University to become Teacher and then Lead Teacher certified for Preschool. She has been a parishioner of St. Bernadette Church for over 25 Years. |
Mrs. Annette DalbecKindergarten Teacher Mrs. Dalbec graduated from Worcester State University in May 1989. She is certified to teach Early Childhood and Elementary Education and has also completed full certification in Religious Education. She is pursuing a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Anna Maria College. She has been teaching since 1999 and has been at St. Bernadette School since 2000.

Mrs. Carolyn MarinelliKindergarten Aide Mrs. Marinelli has been teaching since 1996. She joined the staff at St. Bernadette School in December of 2006 as a Kindergarten Aide. Prior to coming to St. Bernadette School, she worked at Gymboree for ten years as a Program Instructor working with children ages 6 months to age five.

Mrs. Jennifer JordanKindergarten Teacher Mrs. Jordan has been a Kindergarten teacher at St. Bernadette School since 2000. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Psychology. She received her Teaching Certificate from Worcester State College in 2000 and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Anna Maria College. She has also obtained full certification in Religion. |
Mrs. Elizabeth DeastlovKindergarten Aide Mrs. Deastlov began teaching in 2007 and started teaching at St. Bernadette School in 2010. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Randolph-Macon Woman's College and a Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is also a certified preschool teacher.

Mrs. Josie FoxKindergarten Teacher Mrs. Fox began working as a Kindergarten Aide in the Early Childhood building in 2005. Prior to joining St. Bernadette, she attended Clark University and worked in the insurance industry for 20+ years. She received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Language Arts from Framingham State College.

Ms. Kate RaffaKindergarten Aide Ms. Raffa has been teaching since 2009. She is ECC certified as both a teacher and a lead teacher. She has a bachelors degree in both Early Childhood Education and Psychology from Worcester State University. She joined St. Bernadette School in 2008 in the Extended Day Program and was a Pre-K 3 Teacher from 2009-2011.

Mrs. Lisa ReadeGrade Three Teacher Mrs. Reade began teaching at St. Bernadette School in 2000. Before coming to St. Bernadette she was a preschool teacher and aide at the Regis College Children’s Center in Weston, MA and a preschool teacher for the SMOC program in Framingham, MA. Mrs. Reade received her BA and an MAT from Regis College.

Mrs. Patricia FayGrade Four Language Arts and Literature Teacher Mrs. Fay taught second and third grades in public schools in Georgia before relocating to Massachusetts with her family. Before coming to St. Bernadette School, she was a Title I and substitute teacher in the Shrewsbury Public Schools. Mrs. Fay earned an undergraduate degree in Marketing from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Central Florida. She has continued to pursue graduate level classes at Worcester State University. Mrs. Fay’s primary concentration has been in literacy. In addition, she has been trained in Responsive Classroom techniques, Reading Recovery and Differentiated Instruction.

Mrs. Joan MatysGrade Four Math and Science Teacher Mrs. Matys began teaching in 2002 and joined St. Bernadette School in 2008. She previously taught both second and third grade in Shrewsbury as well as working with intensive special need students in Hopkinton. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Wheaton College, and a M.Ed. from Lesley University.

Previously, she worked in the Worcester Public Schools for eight years as a literacy tutor. She graduated from Worcester State University with a degree in Elementary Education and continues to take graduate courses to keep up her teaching certification.

Mrs. Julie DoucetteGrade Six Language Arts, Literature, and Social Studies Mrs. Doucette has been teaching since 1978. She began teaching at St. Bernadette School in 2005 as a substitute and extended day teacher and began as a full time teacher in 2006. She earned her B.A. from Framingham State University and M.Ed. in Reading from Westchester University in Pennsylvania. Her certifications include English, 7 -12, and Reading Specialist, K-12. Her teaching experience includes seventh and eighth grade English and reading, as well as elementary level Title 1 reading, both in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Loretta CarrollGrade Six through Eight Religion Teacher Mrs. Carroll has been teaching since 1978 and has been teaching at St. Bernadette since 1998. She has been a Third Order Carmelite for over 25 years. She has a B.S. from Worcester State University and is a Master Catechist certified through the Diocese of Worcester.

Ms. Mary Ellen WolfeGrade Six through Eight Math Teacher Ms. Wolfe has 20 years experience teaching math at the high school and post-secondary level. Ms. Wolfe earned a BS in Accounting at Arizona State University and a Masters of Art in Teaching Math from Manhattanville College. She has taught at Wellesley High School, Natick High School, Middlesex Community College and Quinsigamond Community College. In addition, Ms. Wolfe has been sole proprietor of Math Smart, offering personal instruction in math K-12 and SAT, ACT and SSAT test preparation courses.

Ms. Mary Anne JezierskiGrades Seven and Eight Social Studies Teacher Ms. Jezierski has been a teacher since 1988 and began teaching at St. Bernadette School in 2000. She has a B.S. in Psychology/Social Studies from Worcester State University and is certified in both Middle School (5-9) and High School (9-12) Social Studies.

Ms. Donna HaagGrade Six, Seven and Eight Science Teacher Ms. Haag has taught in Catholic schools for 25 years, most recently as Science teacher at St. Michael School in Hudson. Ms. Haag earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She has taught in public school in Ohio and Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Baltimore and Boston as well as at St. Peter-Marian Junior High in the Diocese of Worcester.

Mrs. Michelle DavisGrades Six through Eight Math and Grade Six Science Teacher Mrs. Davis has been teaching at St. Bernadette School since 2007. She has a B.S. in Business Administration from Nichols College and Master's of Education from Lesley University. She began at St. Bernadette School as a substitute teacher and Extended Day teacher and also worked as the school bookkeeper. She also taught in the third grade with Mrs. Reade while she completed her practicum for her graduate studies.

Mrs. Peg LienGrade Four through Eight Art Teacher Mrs. Lien has been the art teacher at St. Bernadette School since 1995. She began her teaching career in Waltham in 1982. She has a B.F.A. in Art Education with a minor in Art History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Mrs. Meghan GasekTechnology Teacher Mrs. Gasek has been teaching at St. Bernadette School since 2006. She has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the College of New Jersey and earned her Masters Degree in Education from Lesley University with a specialization in Technology. She began her teaching career in Lexington as a preschool teacher, Kindergarten teacher, and Curriculum Director.

Mrs. Jan BerryLibrary, Grades 4-8 Mrs. Berry graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature. She also attended Green Mountain College in Vermont where she graduated with an A.S. in English and minored in Child Psychology. While living in Boulder, she worked at the Boulder Historical Library doing cataloging and referencing. She served on the Board of Library Trustees in Grafton, MA for ten years and has worked with Boston Partners in Education tutoring inner-city children in reading.

Mrs. Mary BardelliniLibrary, Preschool - Grade 3 Mrs. Bardellini attended Dean College where she majored in Education. She worked in the capacity of permanenet substitute teacher at St. Bernadette School and has worked with both the ECC students and upper-grade students. Mrs. Bardellini has also served on the Parish Council of Sacred Heart Church in Milford, MA and taught CCD. Before coming to St. Bernadette School she worked in the private sector for many years.

Mrs. Monica CluneGrades Pre-K - Five Spanish Teacher Mrs. Clune was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and began her teaching career at the Berlitz Language Center at Wellesley Hills and Coral Gables, Florida, teaching writing, reading and speaking Spanish to individuals and corporate groups. While teaching fourth through sixth grade at the Field Elementary School in Weston, she participated in the development and implementation of several important interdisciplinary units, which she continues to do at St. Bernadette School. She also integrates technology into the FLES Curriculum at the elementary level, using PowerPoint and internet resources on a cart to enhance the delivery and assessment components of the work.

Mr. Alfredo DiMauro, IIIPhysical Education Teacher Mr. DiMauro -"Coach D" -
graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education
and Movement Studies with a minor in Health Studies. He has been doing camps
with kids in the area for the past few summers at the YMCA in dowtown Worcester
where he teaches them archery, how to canoe, and cooperative games. He did his
student teaching in Holden in the Wachusett Regional School District at Davis
Hill Elementary and Wachusett Regional High School.
Mr. DiMauro also coaches one of the
St. Bernadette's Boys 5/6th grade basketball teams.

Ms. Caroline RapaMusic Teacher Ms. Rapa is a recent graduate of Providence College with a B.A. in music education- certified PK-12. She completed her student teaching in elementary general music at Steere Farm Elementary School in Burrillville, RI and in band at North Attleboro Middle School. Additionally, Ms. Rapa is a gradute of St. Bernadette School, class of 2003,
and the first alumna to teach. She was also one of the founding members of the
St. Bernadette's band as a flautist.

Mrs. Anne KeeganGrade Six through Eight Spanish and Latin Teacher Before coming to St. Bernadette School in 2004, Mrs. Keegan taught foreign languages, namely French, Spanish, and Latin, as well as English, in the Sutton Public School System for 41 years. She was also advisor to many classes, clubs, and organizations within the system and had served in many other capacities such as department head, mentor co-ordinator, and organizer of the faculty newsletter. Mrs. Keegan has a BA from Elms College and received a Masters Degree from Assumption College. She also has a certification in World Language and continues to take post-graduate courses at colleges and universities within the area.

Mrs. Liz LapolitoArt Teacher Grades K-3 Mrs. Lapolito has been teaching art at St. Bernadette School since 2009. Previous to being an Art teacher, she was a Kindergarten Assistant at St. Bernadette School for four years. She received her degree from Westfield State College where she majored in Early Childhood Education and Art. |
Mrs. Nancy ConnorResource / Title I Teacher (Grades 4-8) Mrs. Connor began teaching at St. Bernadette School in 2007. She received her B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Education from the College of New Rochelle in New York. She completed her Masters in Reading from Worcester State University. She is also Wilson Reading System (Level One) certified. Before coming to St. Bernadette School, Mrs. Connor taught in the Worcester Public Schools for 13 years. During that time she taught E.S.L. at the elementary level for 4 years and Reading at the middle school level for 9 years. She has also taught 5th grade and done private tutoring.

Mrs. Deborah CunninghamResource Teacher (K-3) Mrs. Cunningham began working at St. Bernadette School as a substitute teacher in 2006 and became a Resource Teacher in 2007. She has a Bachelor of Education Degree (Pre-K - Grade 3) from the University of New Brunswick, Canada with majors in Early Childhood and Special Education and Massachusetts certification / Masters Track from Lesley University. She has been both a classroom teacher and a Title One Reading teacher since 1980.

Father Stephen M. Gemme is pastor of the St. Bernadette School. He earned a Bachelors Degree in History with a minor in Psychology and Secondary Education from Fitchburg State College in 1992. After graduation he taught history, economics, and public speaking at St. Peter Marian, the largest Catholic Jr/Sr High school in the City of Worcester MA from 1992 to 1997. During his time as both a middle school and high school teacher he earned a Masters Degree in Teaching History from Fitchburg State College, graduating from the graduate education program in 1997. That same year he was accepted by the Diocese of Worcester as a seminarian and was sent to St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore Maryland to study for the priesthood. St. Mary's is the oldest Catholic Seminary in the United States, being founded in 1791 by the Society of St. Sulpice. In 2002 Father Gemme graduated with a Masters Degree in Sacred Theology and Divinity. Upon graduation he served as associate pastor of St. Joan of Arc, a large and busy city parish in Worcester from June of 2002 until his appointment as pastor of St. Bernadette's in August of 2003.
